Inspirational Photos For Your Christmas Table Setting

My favorite part of hosting a party is the decoration and setting up part. Whether it’s only lighting up a few candles around the house or fixing a nice flower arrangement, it brings me massive happiness. What I enjoy the most in decorating is coming up with a creative table setting. I guess I got a hang of it when I was younger and used to help around the house when my parents were hosting parties (and there were lots of them!).

Nowadays, we are also blessed with internet and more specifically, Pinterest. So for Christmas, I’ve been researching beautiful and fun ideas for a nice table setting and I’ve stumble upon many. I’ve selected a few for you to get inspired! I hope you enjoy it.

Design Item of The Week: hu2 Wall Art

In 2007, Antoine Tesquier Tedeschi founded Hu2 Design in East London. This new, young design company is now based in Paris and innovates and manufactures sustainable art & design.

Hu2 Design’s original work is described as “wall design 2.0” – a brew of new artistic vision and interactive design ideas with a simple approach: green innovation through durable design products. Loved by creatives and approved by eco-geeks, this award-winning ethical business is at the heart of the new design generation.

That was a brief summary of what they do at Hu2 Design , as part of the weekly Design Item series that’s been going on for a while on Breadonbutter. Look at those great wall stickers for your kitchen. Wouldn’t they be a super addition for a design touch to your home? Click here for their website and here for their Facebook page.

Design Item of The Week: SMEG Fridges

I present you this week with one of the most wanted objects on my list: the SMEG retro-style 50’s fridges!

As they state it so well, SMEG’s Italian designs is all about technology with style. They are committed to bring everyday house objects to life. Each Smeg appliance is created with strong attention to product detail, design and materials used.

Founded by Vittorio Bertazzoni from Guastalla, a town near Reggio Emilia in northern Italy, SMEG is today one of the world’s leading home appliance manufacturers. In an era of radical change in social structures, families, lifestyles and living patterns, Smeg were inspired to develop products designed to meet new technological demands and revolutionize home living. Domestic appliances quickly became seen as status symbols to be proud of, permanently changing lifestyle habits and making housework easier and less time consuming. www.smeguk.com

Below are inspirational pictures found while surfing the net to inspire you on how to style your kitchen with a SMEG. Hope you enjoy it!

Design Item Of The Week: PANTONE Universe

As a lover of design objects with a cool twist, and an addict of decorative items with a unique touch for the home, I have decided to start this new series where I’ll be showing you a specific item I fell in love with (that you will probably fall in love with too) hoping to inspire you (as always).

If you’re into the creative world of communication Arts, you have surely heard about Pantone. Today, I’m sharing a few pictures of Pantone products I spotted in Milan at La Rinascente Design Supermarket (a place that shouldn’t be missed by design-lovers of this world). But first, let me summarize the story behind PANTONE and how they came to be.

PANTONE is basically a color provider to enable a proper communication of the specific color needed across a variety of industries. They provide a lot of services ranging from graphic arts to color management. What more, the key attraction here is PANTONE UNIVERSE, which is a collection of lifestyle products based on a variety of colors. You can find products ranging from kitchen items to stationery to travel gear. It’s simply amazing. They also write seasonal Color Reports that they publish on their website (check out one of them here).

So here are some pictures of PANTONE mugs and kitchen items I spotted at La Rinascente 2 weeks ago.

*All Christmas Trees are Perfect*

Finally, it’s that time of year again! For many, including me, it’s the happiest of times. Christmas and all its magical atmosphere. Houses are warm and cosy; sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts and uncles all come home, families are reunited; stories are told; engagements and weddings happen; and emotions make their way to the surface. In other words, Life is sugar-coated.
The first thing that tells me Christmas is really here is when my mom takes out the long box from storage. It’s somewhat a feeling of relief, as if a really wise person you love was gone all year and is now back. The Christmas Tree comes out of its box and we all engage in our usual tactics to make him stand again, in all its splendor, in our living room. From the moment the tree is up and for the next month or so, that’s what you’re coming back home to. Your tree will make all noise, traffic, work stress and dust go away. To come home to it will make you feel good and toasty. You’re Home, another year of marvelous experiences has passed, and it’s Christmas.
Here are the steps to our tree, hoping it will inspire you.
When the Tree is the only light in the room

Are you making your Christmas Tree this weekend?
